Herbed Ring Bread

This is an easy and quick bread, an innovation made from refrigerator biscuits. By preparing it a day in advance, you will just have the baking at serving time. The herbs add an interesting and unusual flavor.

Preparation time:   20 min.
Baking time:   30 to 40 min.
Oven temp:    375 degrees F


Herbed Ring Bread

For 2 loaves or dozen rolls you will need:

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/3 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 tsp. dried oregano leaves
  • 1/2 tsp. fresh or dried tarragon leaves
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped parsley
  • Garlic salt
  • 2 cans(10 0z each) refrigerator biscuits

  • 1. Melt butter in saucepan. Add onions, oregano, tarragon, parsley and garlic salt to taste.
  • 2. Cut each biscuit in half lengthwise. Dip each piece in the butterherb mixture. Layer in 5-cup ring mold.
  • 3. Drizzle any remaining buttermixture over the top.
  • 4. Bake at 375 degrees F for 30 to 40 min or until bread is a deep golden brown. Unmold and serve immediately.


    Tips: This bread ring can be prepared 24 hrs ahead. Bring to room temperature before baking.
